Symantec earnings tonight 9 of 9 last qtrs AH reaction widened next day

SYMC is favoring a widening pattern in its post-earnings share performance. Shares have outpaced their evening move in 16 of the last 23 quarterly reports. That trend is more pronounced lately; the stock has widened in nine straight quarters.

On Oct. 28, 2009, the stock was up 5.2% after a Q2 beat, but mixed Q3 guidance. Shares rose 12.7% the next day.

On July 29, 2009, SYMC declined 7.3% in after-hours trade after missing Q1 expectations and setting its Q2 guidance below the Street view. The stock was hammered lower the following day, ending down 14.2% on July 30.

On May 6, 2009, SYMC slumped 4.5% in after-hours trade following better-than-expected earnings, missed revenue results, and mixed guidance. The stock added to its downside in the May 7 regular session, ending down 14.8%.

On Jan. 28, 2009, the stock gained 3.5% after beating with Q3 results and guiding in line for Q4. Shares were up 5.6% the next day.

On Oct. 29, 2008, the stock fell 6.8% during evening trading after SYMC beat with earnings but was shy with sales. The loss swelled to 17.6% the next day.

On July 30, 2008, the stock gained 5% during extended-hours trading after SYMC beat with Q1, guides in line to above Street for Q2. The stock gained a more robust 7% the next day.

On April 30, 2008, the stock gained 4.3% during evening trading after beating with Q4 results and guiding above the Street for Q1. The gain swelled to 12.3% the next day.

On Jan. 23, 2008, SYMC jumped 9.1% in evening action after topping Q3 estimates and guiding higher. It firmed further north the next day, advancing 10.9% by the closing bell on Jan. 24.

$LLTC earnings tonight 8 of last 9 qtrs the after hours move up or down has widened next trading day




LLTC's session-to-session trading pattern following earnings favors a widening trend, doing so following 13 of its last 19 after-hours earnings releases. The near-term pattern shows wider moves in eight of nine quarters.

On Oct. 13, 2009, LLTC advanced 1.8% in after-hours trading after beating Q1 expectations. The stock reversed course the following day, ending the Oct. 14 regular session down 2.1%.

On July 21, 2009, the stock gained 3.8% in evening trading after a Q4 beat and Q1 guidance above the Street view. The gain swelled to 8.2% the next day.

On April 14, 2009, the stock fell 2% in the after-hours session after LLTC beat with Q2 results but guides for Q3 below the Street. Shares fell a deeper 2.8% the next day.

On Jan. 13, 2008, the stock fell 3.5% after Q2 results fell from the year-ago quarter. The following day, the stock fell a deeper 4.1%.

On Oct. 14, 2008, the stock fell 13.5% during extended-hours trading after a Q1 beat but Q2 revenue guidance below Street. The loss widened to 15% the next day.

On July 22, 2008, LLTC shed 2.9% in after-hours trade after beating Q4 earnings expectations and meeting on revenue. The stock dipped further into the red the next day, closing down 4.1% in the July 23 regular session.

On April 15, 2008, LLTC advanced 2.6% in after-hours activity after beating Q3 expectations. The stock chugged higher the following day, rising 4.8% by the close on April 16.

AngioDynamics (ANGO) up 1.25% in AH following erngs, 4 of last 4 qtrs the AH move has widened next day

In the long-term data we've collected, ANGO has a clear tendency to widen its after-hours move in the next-day session following a post-bell earnings report. It has done so in 11 of the last 15 quarters. Near term, the stock has widened in the last four consecutive quarters.

On Oct. 6, 2009, ANGO advanced 1.8% in after-hours trading after missing Q1 expectations but also setting guidance in-line to above expectations. The stock added to its gains the next day, ending the Oct. 7 regular session up 3.3%.

On July 16, 2009, the stock fell 7.9% after earnings declined vs year ago levels. Shares fell a deeper 14.2% the next day.

On April 2, 2009, ANGO advanced 2.5% in after-hours trade after beating on earnings but coming in just shy on revenue. The stock surged higher the next day, ending the April 3 regular session up 9.4%.

On Jan. 6, 2009, ANGO edged down 0.08% in after-hours trade after beating earnings expectations but also lowering its sales view in-line to below Street estimates. The stock headed further south the next day, ending the Jan. 7 regular session down 7.7%.
